DeTraS (Development Tracking System) is mainly a set of tools, started by Carlos García Campos and continued by me, that were created to improve software cost estimation, providing information about how developers work.
These tools allow to track actions that happens on a computer, like a window change or an inactive period. That information may be consulted locally or uploaded to a server to study it and know developers behavior over development process phases. DeTraS also takes care about your privacy allowing you to apply filters on tracked information or letting you choose if you want to upload your data or not.
If you are not a developer and you are thinking this is not useful for you, wait a minute! You can use DeTraS to control your activity when you use the computer. For instance, you could know how many time do you spend reading e-mails or surfing Internet.
